Consumer ACH Terms & Conditions

Revision Date: 07/08/25

These eDebit Direct ACH Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ACH (Automated Clearing House) payment services when you authorize payments through a merchant’s website or service that uses eDebit Direct, LLC (“eDebit Direct,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for payment processing. By initiating or authorizing an ACH payment to or from your bank account through our platform or a participating merchant’s website, you agree to these Terms, including the use of electronic authorization and/or electronic signature.

  1. Definitions

The following terms are used throughout these Terms:

  • ACH: Automated Clearing House
  • Authorization: Your consent for eDebit Direct or a service provider to debit or credit your account
  • Service Provider: The merchant or business you’re paying or receiving services from
  • Recurring Payment: A regularly scheduled ACH debit
  • One-Time Payment: A single ACH transaction
  • Regulation E: Federal rules protecting consumers in electronic fund transfers
  • NACHA: The organization governing ACH network rules in the U.S.
  1. Authorization for ACH Transactions

By providing your bank account information and authorizing an ACH payment, you grant us and our partners permission to initiate electronic debits or credits to your account. This includes:

  • One-time payments
  • Recurring payments
  • Refunds or corrections, if necessary

You confirm that you are an authorized user of the bank account and have the authority to approve ACH transactions.

In accordance with NACHA rules, we or your service provider must retain a copy of your authorization for at least two (2) years following cancellation.

  1. Bank Account Verification

To help ensure transaction security, eDebit Direct uses trusted third-party providers—Plaid, Yodlee, and DataX (Equifax)—to verify your bank account information.

Plaid

  • You authorize Plaid to access your account information, including balance and transaction history, solely for account verification and ACH processing
  • You acknowledge that Plaid’s services are governed by Plaid’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which you will be asked to review during the linking process

Yodlee

  • You authorize Yodlee to access your account information, including balance and transaction history, solely for account verification and ACH processing
  • You acknowledge that Yodlee’s services are governed by Yodlee’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which you will be asked to review during the linking process

DataX (Equifax)

  • You authorize DataX (a service of Equifax) to access information related to your account. DataX provides consumer payment history data, which does not affect your credit score or credit file with major credit bureaus
  • You acknowledge that DataX services are governed by Equifax’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which you will be prompted to review

Note: eDebit Direct does not use micro-deposits for verification, and we do not store or have access to your bank login credentials.

  1. Timing of Transactions

ACH transactions generally process on the same business day or the following business day. We are not responsible for delays caused by your financial institution.

Please ensure that sufficient funds are available in your account prior to the scheduled payment date. If a payment fails due to insufficient funds, your bank may charge overdraft or NSF (non-sufficient funds) fees, for which we are not responsible.

  1. Recurring Payments

If you authorize recurring ACH payments:

  • You allow us to initiate periodic debits from your account as agreed with your service provider
  • You may cancel or change a recurring payment by contacting your service provider at least three (3) business days prior to the next scheduled debit
  • Canceling a recurring payment does not cancel or forgive any amount owed
  1. Revoking Authorization

To revoke your authorization for future ACH payments, you must:

  • Contact your service provider directly; or
  • Cancel the payment via your account (if applicable)

To stop a payment already scheduled:

  • For one-time payments, contact your service provider immediately
  • For postdated or recurring payments, provide at least three (3) business days’ notice before the scheduled debit date
  1. Errors and Disputes

If you believe an ACH transaction was unauthorized or processed incorrectly, contact your service provider immediately using the contact information found on their website or in your payment receipt.

Under Regulation E, you must report errors within 60 days of the transaction appearing on your bank statement to be eligible for a remedy.

Your service provider is responsible for managing your payment schedule, authorizations, and dispute resolution. eDebit Direct facilitates ACH processing but does not control individual payment terms.

  1. Fees

eDebit Direct does not charge consumers fees for ACH transactions unless otherwise disclosed. However, your financial institution or service provider may charge fees for overdrafts, returned items, or other account-related services. You are responsible for any such fees.

  1. Your Responsibilities

By using our ACH services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current bank account information

  • Notify your financial institution, service provider, and eDebit Direct immediately if you become aware of unauthorized access or changes to your account
